Current information about COVID 19 and the 2020 Summer Soccer Season

Information regarding the impact of COVID 19 on the 2020 Summer Soccer Season

Published Thursday, April 2, 2020

Hi Everyone

I hope that this email finds you safe and healthy.

I have received questions over that last few days from our members regarding what is happening with outdoor soccer in the District and City.  The St. Charles Soccer Association along with the other 4 city District Clubs have had conversations around the 2020 outdoor season and what it may look like.  However, at this point, it is too early to judge how and when the outdoor soccer season would proceed.

You should know that the Clubs and the League all want the players to have some sort opportunity to play if possible.  However, this has to occur in a safe environment for everyone.

Currently, the Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA), as the governing body for soccer in the province, has suspended all soccer activities in light of current COVID-19 related public health guidance.  When MSA provides direction regarding a time line for resuming soccer activities, we will ensure that this is communicated to you.

At this time, we are still planning and forming teams so that when soccer is cleared to start, we are prepared to move forward quickly.  Thank you in advance for your patience at this time.

In the meantime, stay at home and stay active with a ball at your feet.
